Etwas verwunderlich wollt es ihm nun wohl bedünken, als sein Freund ihm gestand, daß das Manuskript von einem Kater, Murr geheißen, herrühre, und dessen Lebensansichten enthalte; das Wort war jedoch gegeben, und da der Eingang der Historie ihm ziemlich gut stilisiert schien, so lief er sofort, mit dem Manuskript in der Tasche.Der Herausgeber versprach, sein Bestes zu tun für den schriftstellerischen Kollegen. Prince John held his high festival in the Castle of Ashby. This was not the same building of which the stately ruins still interest the traveller, and which was erected at a later period by the Lord Hastings, High Chamberlain of England, one of the first victims of the tyranny of Richard the Third, and yet better known as one of Shakspeare’s characters than by his historical fame. About

A narrow sans serif, FUD Grotesk was inspired by brutalist architecture and modernist typography. There is a subtle stroke contrast, many inktraps, and even some microserifs (look for them in the main strokes!). Note the closed bowl apertures, exaggerated in the alternate forms, which result in a dense, ornate typeset. Five weights (from Light to Bold), and a large set of discretionary ligatures.

Ilya Bazhanov

Ilya is an artist, type and graphic designer. His fascination with street art has led him to typography and visual arts. Ilya received a diploma in graphic design from the Russian-British Institute of Management (Chelyabinsk). He graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design at UJEP (Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic). During his studies, he studied at the HSD University of Applied Sciences (Düsseldorf, Germany). He is now at the Graduate School of Applied Arts in Prague, UMPRUM, at the font and typography studio. His Thaw font was awarded at the “Modern Cyrillic 2019.” He participated in exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, and Slovakia.
