Spektra in use: Tipsy Tiger

How to avoid looking old-fashioned when you use italics to express motion

February 13, 2024

Tipsy Tiger is a Hamburg-based alcohol delivery service. It promises to deliver wine, beer, cider, or cocktails to your party within 15 minutes. For their first ad campaign, designer Jose Manuel Vega picked Spektra by Type Salon — Regular for general info and Regular Italic for anything that has to do with the speed of delivery.

Spektra is a variable font designed by Alja Herlah and Krista Likar of Type Salon, which covers Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew. The typeface comes in five styles, from Light to Heavy with unslanted and backslanted italics for each (plus a variable font of two axes.)

If you used the fonts from our library in your project, please tell us about it! You can do that by sending us the links and images at info@type.today.
