Roslindale in use: Pillar

An old-style serif typeface in an architectural bureau’s new identity

8 May 2025

Pillar is a London-based architectural visualisation practice founded in 2018. In 2022, they invited designer Mike Giesser to analyse and update their brand identity. That’s how Roslindale by David Jonathan Ross appeared in Pillar’s logo and presentation slide titles (along with Mercure by Abyme, which is now applied to its image captions).

Roslindale is an old-style serif, inspired by both the American serif type of the late 19th century and its revivals dating back to the 1970s. The collection comes in three faces: for large, medium, and smaller sizes.
