New typeface: Lurk

Yury Dud, the famed Russian youtuber, has been using this typeface in his videos for over a year. Now you can buy it on our Today storefront. Noisy, discreet, sassy, funny, serious, wild: 18 tones for telling different stories in the same single typographic language

July 10, 2020

Lurk collection was designed in 2019 especially for Yury Dud, arguably, the most prominent journalist in today’s Russia (each episode of his YouTube show gains some 10m views). The 18 styles of the font are not just Bold, Light, Extended, or Condensed we’re used to, but a wide range of tones: neutral, harsh, smooth, noisy, discreet, etc. Such a tool allows for telling different stories in the same single typographic language, and makes it possible to utilize very little additional graphics — all it takes is the typeface.

The collection has two typefaces: Lurk A and Lurk B. Each typeface is equipped with its own specific set of tones, classified in an elementary, fact-based way: the author of Lurk A styles is Ilya Ruderman, while Lurk B was designed by Yury Ostromentsky.

We want the emotional palette of the typeface to work at its full capacity, as it was designed to. This is why we sell Lurk in two packages, Lurk A (10 styles) and Lurk B (8 styles + bonus file where styles 1–3 are recorded as one typeface with alternatives) at a very good price: minimum Desktop and Web licenses cost $75 per package. You can purchase or explore the whole collection here.
