Graphik Compact in use: A (dis-)Comfortable Distance

A space saving and narrow typeface in a book on different perspectives on distance

September 3, 2024

A (dis-)Comfortable Distance is a student project by Julia Dvoryaninova where she shares how researchers, writers, and artists explore the psychological, social, and spatial distance between people. The articles authored by scholars are set in Graphik Compact by Commercial Type, while CoFo Robert by Contrast Foundry is used for fiction texts.

Graphik Compact is a really capable space efficient typeface. It can well be used for both headlines and body text — in both cases it will save you some paper without appearing overly narrow and illegible. Cyrillic support for Graphic Compact — as well as for the entire Graphik collection — was designed at CSTM Fonts.
