Stepping Softly on the Earth on the Earth is an art show held in 2023 at the Northumbria University Gallery. The exhibition featured the work of 20 artists reflecting on human relationships with territories and borders from a decolonial perspective. The catalogue texts are set in Backslanted by CSTM Fonts and Gal Gothic by Daniel Sabino.
Backslanted is a series of reverse-contrasted fonts varying in angle, style, and weight. Three faces from the series are available at our type store — two sans serifs, Backslanted Regular and Backslanted Super, and Backslanted Script, each coming with a set of mathematical symbols, numerous alternates, and ligatures.
