Rise is a wellness centre and cafe that WeWork opened in one of their coworking spaces in downtown Manhattan to give the company’s residents a chance to do yoga or take a steam bath between work calls. The project’s typography is catered by sans serif typefaces Venti by Connary Fagen and Apecru by Colophon Foundry and serif Publico by Commercial Type.

Publico was conceived as one of the display face options for The Guardian but ended up on the pages of a Portuguese daily newspaper. Since it essentially inherited its glyph structure from the Guardian family, the typefaces from these two collections are a perfect match for each other. Despite going way back, the typeface still feels relevant and appears both in newspapers and web design/brand identities.
