Outsider Drinks is a brand of non-alcoholic beverages produced from fermented botanicals and diffusion-extracted juices. Studio Thomas designed the packaging using quite abstract botanical illustrations and three styles of Portrait by Commercial Type.
Portrait is a French Renaissance serif typeface as seen by a contemporary minimalist designer daring enough to introduce sharp triangular serifs to the proportions of the time. Portrait’s minimalist solutions are taken to their logical extreme in the Inline styles, where overlapping strokes within the characters make them appear dimensional.
