Loos in use: Akhali Kselebi

Loos Wide in a visual identity of a Georgian Internet service provider

September 17, 2024

Akhali Kselebi (which is Georgian for The New Network) is an Internet service provider covering the entire Georgia, both big cities and small mountain villages. A Tbilisi-based studio Holy Motors updated the provider’s visual identity and came up with their new logo this year. Any text in Georgian and English on Akhali Kselebi’s social media pages, website, or even modems is now set in Loos Wide by CSTM Fonts.

Loos is a closed-aperture sans serif that grew out of a cover lettering of an Adolf Loos book titled Why a Man Should Be Well-dressed: Appearances Can Be Revealing. The typeface comes in an impressive amount of styles, ranging from Compressed to Extended and from Thin to Black. Loos has simple yet distinctive structures and slight contrast. It supports Latin, Cyrillic, and Georgian.
