Logos, the fanciest philosophy magazine, is published six times a year, each time with a new cover. The first 2023 issue is about cartography, with its cover featuring Vladimir Vertinsky’s design and all sorts of stylistic alternates of the Base&Bloom typeface.
Base&Bloom by Peter Bushuev is a response to the lack of display sans type and abundance of swashed serifs. Its swashes are an integral part of the glyph, rather than decorative elements. Some glyphs have as many as ten alternates, ranging from sophisticated calligraphy to bold brutalism.
