Atlas Typewriter in use: Inside Kristallnacht

A performance packaged as a website, and a monospaced typeface from the Atlas collection

15 April 2025

Inside Kristallnacht is an immersive online performance based on the story of Charlotte Knobloch, a Holocaust survivor. On the performance’s website, one can ask a question about the events of November 1938, the Night of Broken Glass, and find out the details of the Jewish pogroms in each city of Germany and Austria. The project was developed by makemepulse studio for the Claims Conference. The website typography is executed through Atlas Typewriter by Commercial Type and Streamer by Florian Karsten.

The Atlas collection was commissioned by Munich Re, one of the world’s largest reinsurance businesses. Willfully avoiding the latest corporate typography trends, the typeface embraces the clear, optimistic tone of Dutch Modernism. The family includes two sans faces, a concise Atlas and a monospaced Atlas Typewriter.
