Oceanic Text in use: Inni

A brand inspired by Korean fashion and a typeface inspired by the French serif type of the 18-19 centuries

November 12, 2024

Inni is a minimalist clothing brand that embraces trends of South Korean fashion design. Slightly modified Oceanic Text by Interval Type is used in their logo designed at Shuka brand transformation bureau, and the very same Oceanic sits next to Gilroy by Radomir Tinkov in the brand’s visual identity.

Oceanic is a collection of three serifs — monospaced, text, and display — and two sans typefaces, where one is Modernist while the other inherits its design solutions from serifs. Oceanic serif families are inspired by both the plasticity of fat serif faces of the 18-19 centuries and the design of sans type from the 19the and early 20th centuries.
