Process: What hinting looks like

To make fonts look sharp in all sizes on  screen, you have to optimize them — the process is called hinting. There are algorithms to help interpolate font contour onto pixel grid, but it’s better off made by hand. Watch a screencast by Galina Kunaryova, font engineer at Paratype.
