A book by Ernst Gombrich presents the history of art from the Stone Age to the 20th century, told in the simplest terms. All Russian-language editions of The Story of Art available today are quite bulky and not really convenient to handle. This was the reason why the HSE Art and Design School student Margarita Belyaeva came up with the idea of designing a non-bulky version of the Story of Art — a handy-sized book and a website where you can view in detail all the images mentioned in the book. The project’s typography is executed using Trola by Jordi Embodas.

Trola is a versatile contemporary text typeface. Its modern proportions make it particularly recommended for generously spaced designs, yet it can also be used in tight spaces. Cyrillic extension of Trola was designed by Letterjuice and then finalised by CSTM Fonts.
