Rencontres Cinématographiques is a conference on the state of the modern film industry, which took place in October 2017, in Dijon, France. The festival’s identity, created by the La Direction studio, is set in Giorgio Sans from Commercial Type and Beretta Sans from 205TF.
Giorgio Sans was designed in 2008 at the request of Christopher Martinez, art director of the New York Times’ style magazine, T. The typeface combines French enamel signs and generic American sign lettering from the early 20th century. It includes eight weights, each with a corresponding italic.
