Navigo in use: Arquibancada

A navigation typeface in a magazine that helps navigate the world of football

August 20, 2024

Arquibancada — which is Portuguese for ‘stands’ — is a magazine issued by the Museu de Futebol based in the city of São Paulo. In this publication, the stories about football and anything around it stay next to the articles exploring how modern sports museums work and develop.

Designer Lucas Blat used Navigo by CSTM fonts to set the magazine’s logo and headlines and applied Source Serif Pro by Frank Grießhammer to its body text.

Initially designed for the Moscow City district’s visual identity and wayfinding system, Navigo is a low-contrast geometric sans with a modern approach to proportion and an extensive glyph set. The set covers extended Latin and Cyrillic, featuring tabular, lining and old style figures, fractions, navigation icons.
