Majority of software, and fonts are no exception, come with an End User Licence Agreement (EULA). Each software comes with its own terms, explaining what is and isn’t allowed when using the fonts. For example, the type.today EULA specifies that you can use licensed fonts for an unlimited amount of time, but that you cannot give the fonts to people who donʼt have a licence to use them. You must agree to the EULA before buying and using our fonts.
Our fonts are a type of software, which means that everyone who uses them needs to have a licence (EULA). If a designer is making a project for the client, it is the designer who needs to purchase the font license. If the client plans on using the fonts, then, a separate licence for the client needs to be purchased as well.
If you plan to use one of our fonts in video or in broadcast, you will need to purchase a desktop license that covers the workstations used during production. No additional fees are necessary.
Your client needs to have its own font license. Separate companies or individuals not employed by the company, but working for it, must each have an appropriate license for the fonts. It is possible to transfer a license to your client, if you destroy all copies of the font in your possession, which includes all backups. You will also need to provide a copy of our standard End User License Agreement along with the fonts.
No, licenses are not transferrable from one platform to another.
No. The webfonts may only be used on a web server, and will not work on desktop software, including Adobe Photoshop. You must purchase a desktop license, if you wish to make comps. The web fonts are licensed per domain, so they may be used by as many developers as you need to code your site. Please note, you'll need an individual license for each App-platform.
